Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before starting Crystal Retinal 6.
Who is Crystal Retinal 6 for?
It's a regular-strength retinal serum for people who already use vitamin A (retinol or retinal) and want to target fine lines, uneven texture and dullness. It suits most skin types, including normal, dry, oily and combination.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
If your skin is sensitive or you've never used vitamin A before, start with a lower strength (Crystal Retinal 1 or 3) and build up. Strength 6 is best once your skin is used to retinoids.
Always patch test first, on a small area behind the ear or on the inner arm, 24 hours before your first full use.
How do I use it?
Use it in the evening after cleansing. Apply 1–2 pumps to dry skin across your face and neck, avoiding the eye area, then follow with your moisturiser.
Start with 2–3 nights a week and build up to every night as your skin adjusts.
Can I use it morning and night?
No. Crystal Retinal is a night serum, so use it in your PM routine only. Vitamin A can make skin more sensitive to the sun, so wear SPF 30 or higher every morning while using it.
Is some dryness or tingling normal?
Mild dryness, flaking or tingling can happen in the first few weeks while your skin gets used to vitamin A. Using it less often and adding a rich moisturiser usually helps. If irritation is strong or lasts, stop using it and speak to a pharmacist or dermatologist.
When will I see results?
Many people notice smoother, brighter-looking skin within a few weeks. Changes to fine lines take longer, usually 8–12 weeks of consistent use. Sticking with it is what makes the difference.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Vitamin A products aren't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Please check with your doctor before using any retinoid.
